Welcome to SmartChores, an app developed by Champion Taekwondo Ltd ("we," "our," or "us"). SmartChores is a household chore management app designed to help families organise tasks, track completion, and reward children for completing chores.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use SmartChores, how we use that information, and the choices you have. By downloading or using the app, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Because SmartChores is intended for use by children under the supervision of a parent or guardian, we take privacy — especially children's privacy — extremely seriously. Please read this policy carefully before allowing your child to use the app.

Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account details: When a parent or guardian creates an account, we collect a name and email address.
- Child profiles: Parents may create profiles for their children containing a first name or nickname and an age or age range. We do not require children to provide an email address.
- Chore data: Task names, completion status, reward values, and any notes entered by the account holder.
- Subscription information: If you subscribe to SmartChores Premium, purchase transactions are handled entirely by Apple (App Store). We receive confirmation of subscription status from RevenueCat but do not store your payment card details.
Information Collected Automatically
- Device identifiers: An anonymous device or app identifier used to maintain your session and deliver in-app purchases.
- Usage data: Aggregate, anonymised data such as which features are used, session length, and crash reports. This data cannot identify you individually.
- Diagnostics: Crash logs and performance data to help us fix bugs and improve the app.
Information We Do NOT Collect
- Precise location data
- Photos, videos, or microphone recordings
- Contacts or calendar data
- Social media credentials or profiles
- Children's full names, school names, addresses, or phone numbers
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect only for the following purposes:
- Providing the service: To create and manage your account, display chore lists and progress, and deliver subscription benefits.
- Improving the app: Anonymised usage data helps us understand which features are valuable and where we can improve.
- Customer support: Your email address allows us to respond to support requests and send important service notifications (e.g., policy changes).
- Subscription management: To verify your subscription status and grant access to premium features.
- Safety and compliance: To detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent or abusive activity, and to comply with applicable laws.
We do not use your information for targeted advertising, profiling, or to sell to third parties. We do not send marketing emails without your explicit consent.
Children's Privacy (COPPA)
SmartChores is designed for use by children under parental supervision. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and equivalent international regulations.
Parental Consent
SmartChores requires a parent or guardian to create and manage the account. Children do not register directly. By creating an account and setting up a child profile, the parent or guardian provides verifiable consent for their child's use of the app.
What We Collect From Children
The only information associated with a child profile is a first name or nickname and, optionally, an age range — both provided by the parent. Children are not asked to provide contact information, passwords, or any personally identifiable information.
Children Under 13 (COPPA)
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 years of age without verifiable parental consent. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13 without your consent, please contact us immediately at support@smartchoresapp.com and we will delete it promptly.
Parental Rights
Parents and guardians have the right to:
- Review any personal information collected about their child.
- Request correction or deletion of their child's information.
- Refuse further collection of their child's information by deleting their account.
- Withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only in the limited circumstances described below.
Service Providers
We work with a small number of trusted third-party services that process data on our behalf, subject to strict data processing agreements:
- RevenueCat — subscription and in-app purchase management. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and purchase receipts. No child profile data is shared. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
- Apple App Store — payment processing for subscriptions. Apple's privacy practices are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Crash reporting / diagnostics — anonymised crash logs may be processed by a diagnostics provider to help us fix bugs. No personally identifiable information is included.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required to do so by law, court order, or government authority, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of SmartChores, our users, or the public.
Business Transfers
If Champion Taekwondo Ltd is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or a prominent in-app notice before your information is subject to a different privacy policy.
Data Storage & Security
Where Your Data Is Stored
SmartChores stores app data locally on your device. Account and subscription status information may be stored on secure servers operated by our service providers. These servers may be located outside your country of residence, including in the United States.
How Long We Keep Your Data
- Account data is retained for as long as your account is active.
- Chore and profile data is stored locally on your device and deleted when you uninstall the app or delete your account.
- Subscription records are retained for the period required by applicable law (typically up to 7 years for financial records).
- Crash logs are retained for up to 90 days.
Security Measures
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. These include:
- Encryption of data in transit using TLS.
- Minimal data collection — we only collect what is necessary for the app to function.
- Regular security reviews of our app and infrastructure.
No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you have reason to believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information. We honour these rights regardless of where you are based.

- Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
